Privacy policy
Last updated 6 September 2026
Short version: Sheepdog has no accounts, no login and no analytics. Your progress lives on your phone. The only company that receives anything about you is Google, because Google serves the ads that keep the game free.
What the game itself stores
Your stars, your wool, your farm upgrades and your settings are written to a file inside the app's own storage on your iPhone. That file never leaves the device. I cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes it.
There is no account to create, and the game never asks for your name, your email or your location.
Advertising
Sheepdog shows ads through Google AdMob. To do that, Google's software receives information from your device — typically a device advertising identifier, general device and app information, and coarse location inferred from your IP address. Google uses this to choose and measure ads.
What Google does with that data is governed by Google's own policies, not mine:
Your choices
- App Tracking Transparency. After you finish your first field, iOS will ask whether Sheepdog may track you across other companies' apps and websites. Say no and you will still see ads — they will just be less relevant. The game plays identically either way. You can change your mind any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Consent form. In regions that require it (the EEA, the UK and some US states), you will see a consent form on first launch. You can reopen it from Settings → Privacy choices inside the game.
- Remove ads. Buying the Shepherd's Pack removes banner and interstitial ads permanently. Rewarded videos remain available, but only ever play when you choose to watch one.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. I never see your payment details — I only learn that a purchase was made, so the app can unlock what you bought. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
What I do not do
- No analytics or attribution SDKs
- No crash-reporting service
- No social logins, no friend lists, no contact upload
- No selling of personal information — there is nothing to sell
- No email list. There is no way for the game to contact you
Children
Sheepdog is rated 9+ and is not directed to children under 13. It is not published in the App Store's Kids category, because apps there may not carry third-party advertising. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, email me and I will look into it.
Data at a glance
| Data | Who gets it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress and settings | Nobody — stays on your device | So the game remembers where you were |
| Advertising identifier, device and app info | Google AdMob | To select and measure ads |
| Approximate location from IP | Google AdMob | Region-appropriate ads and legal compliance |
| Purchase receipts | Apple | To unlock what you paid for |
Your rights
Because the game holds nothing about you on a server, most access and deletion requests are answered by deleting the app. For data Google holds, use the Google links above. If you are in the EEA, the UK or a US state with a privacy statute and want to ask me something anyway, email me.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the new version appears here before the change takes effect in the app.
